Leider nicht am Ziel angekommen. Haben uns bei sehr schlechtem Wetter auf den Weg gemacht, sind relativ lange entlang des Flusses gewandert, jedoch bestand keine Möglichkeit den Fluss zu überqueren um an die Quelle zu gelangen. Auf Empfehlung eignet sich der Start von der Husafell Kirche aus wohl am besten. Ein paar Schilder wären vielleicht nicht verkehrt

We did a round tour, starting from the tourist information on the North site of the river, but we did not really know, where to cross the river at the end, because after some warm days in march with melting snow, the river was really full. We crossed the river then at a not so deep, but wide point, 200m south of the water falls, short before the cliffs stop you to walk on the North site.
After having passed, we walked with completely wet shoes and socks back on the south side. This way is much easier.
It was an little adventure!

Tolle Wanderung zur heißen Quelle!! (bis zur Quelle ca. 1h). Der Weg durch die Schlucht war gut zu finden. Im Internet findet man auch eine GPX Datei (Selgil Hot Spring Húsafell). Für den Rückweg empfehlen wir den Weg links des Wasserfalls über den Berg, dort hat man eine schöne Aussicht. Beim Parkplatz beim Hotel kann man kostenlos parken.

Netter kleine Wanderung. Überqueren des Flusses war kein Problem. Bei Beginn bei der Kirche ist auch ein erreichen ohne Querung möglich. Quelle war leider nur mäßig warm

Totally worth a detour.
Beautiful and easy walk (crossing the river was the only difficult part, had to take big steps between some slippery rocks), perfect temperature hot spring. It’s a small pool, good for 3 people.
We used AllTrails to get there, but at the end of the trail it was a bit difficult to find. The pool is on a hill in front of the waterfall, see our photo for reference.

It is hard to find, but it is definitely worth the hike. Depends on which side you are coming from, it will be your difficulties. It is up the hill .It is small. Maximum for 2 people, and it is not deep. But it is super hot. We were just two of us. And i had a blast with the view to the mountains and a waterfall. Very cool vibe. Natural, and you feel connected with nature.

Ok so the hike is super and not well marked at all. We got lost but we're able to cut through the brush to get back to the correct trail. Also the trail shown as going on the right side of the river according to the map is disintegrated in a spot and impossible to pass through so don't go that way haha.

The hot springs are just little puddles of hot water. Not worth a dip but fun anyway.

Ultimately and amazing hike out with the best views we've seen on our trip. And tons of wild blueberries on the mountain. Free parking at the Husafelli hotel.
