Stayed here 03/2023. Absolutely worth it! Host/hostess were genuine, kind and entertaining. The owner is an Icelandic writer/director that won awards for his Viking films in the 80’s. He even gave my husband a signed DVD as a growing away host gift. You’ll find there’s a story behind every item you find in the property. They even posed for some photos with us. We spent time driving around looking for the Northern Lights with no luck. Walking back to our Airbnb we looked up and saw them right about our heads. We not only watched them in the sky, you’re just far enough away from the city you could see their reflection in the ocean right in front of you. We were lucky enough to see them all but one night we visited.
Don’t let other comments stating that you may see others walking by it as it’s near public areas stop you from booking. We only saw one or two people and they are not actually close to your cabin. My husband was able to shower outdoors all while watching the Northern lights. (open the huge door in the shower to expose the outside and shower in nature.) The heated floors, kitchenette and cozy feeling were more than enough for our week in Iceland. Just a 5-10 minutes ride by car or 10 minutes by bike along the ocean. It doesn’t get better than this. We can’t wait to go back to Iceland. We will definitely stay here again. Here’s some photos from on the property. This may not be here forever, book your stay now!

Recycle House definitely brings out the goosebumps and raises the hairs on the back of the neck.
This place has a really creepy vibe.
I don't know if that's because it was deserted apart from us or because of all the masks and rust.
It's a decent walk out of central Reykjavik but easy to find if you just follow the seawall around.
I'm glad we made the effort but I'm not really sure I'd call it a recycle house.
I don't know.

I visited the Recycled House in Iceland from the outside, and it’s truly a work of art. Made entirely from recycled materials, this colourful and creative structure showcases sustainable living in a very artistic way. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Ein sehr interessantes Bauwerk. Sowas habe ich noch nicht in der Art gesehen. Von gefundenen Gegenständen aus dem Meer wurde das Gebäude und die umliegenden Kunstwerke errichtet. Man kann einfach heran laufen. Der Blick vom Wasser aus ist verdammt Klasse. Neben an liegen kostenfreie Parkplätze.

Zajímavé místo, z nalezených věcí. Většina jich byla vytažená z oceánu. Procházka při západu slunce dodá tu správnou atmosféru.
