Cute place, but certainly on the older site. The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was adequately spaced. This feels more like an inn given that the owners welcome you and are the ones present at dinner and breakfast (with some hired help). Dinner was good. I liked that they actually served vegetables with the meat or fish. Dinner is a set menu, so you better like the option that night. Both dinner and breakfast only run for one hour though we certainly sat around for longer, and the host don't seem to have a problem with this. The location is great but isolated. I liked the views of the bay and cliffs. As all hotels in Iceland this place is not cheap and it is easy to heave the feeling you overpay. If you are going to the bird cliffs this is a good location, about 30 minutes away. Only one other hotel is closer.

We had a great stay at Hotel Latrabjarg. We chose this place as it was close to the famous Latrabjarg bird cliffs, about a 30min drive away. The small hotel has great views over a sandy bay, but not much else around. The self check-in was easy and we were very happy with our room. Our room was large, bright, and airy with great views out to the sandy bay. The room had a nice sitting area and desk but no TV. The Wifi internet worked well as did the big radiator heaters under the windows. The breakfast was simple but delicious, with a great variety of mainly cold breakfast items. Our only complaint was that the breakfast was served so late (8:00am) creating a late start to our travel day. A 7:00am start would be much more efficient, as all the travelers staying there were rearing to go early. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this place to other travelers.

Un hôtel au bout du bout du monde, ou presque, en bordure d’une immense plage le long d’un fjord à l’extrême ouest. On aperçoit au loin, de l’autre côté du fjord, une petite ville en bas d’immenses falaises qui ont conservé leurs plaques de neige. Autour de l’hôtel des moutons qui vont à leur guise, et des sterns qui crient sur celui qui s’approche de leur territoire, soit la zone herbeuse en contrebas de l’hôtel, il y’a aussi le chevalier gambette, le pluvier doré, la bécassine, quelques cygnes au loin, des canards en bordure du fjord. Quel bonheur de sortir de l’hôtel et marcher jusqu’au bord du fjord environné par toute cette vie. Et l’hôtel alors ? Une partie des chambres donnent sur le fjord, ce fut notre cas, nous donnant le sentiment de contempler un paysage de rêve au travers des fenêtres comme dans un voyage dont le train aurait stoppé dans un gare lointaine au milieu de nulle part. Les chambres sont confortables et ont le charme de l’ancien avec des parquets en bois, les lits sont de bonne qualité, tout est parfait. Le petit déjeuner est bien, avec pain cuit sur place et petits croissants, grille-pain, etc, (pas de eggs and bacon). Nous avons pris le repas du soir chacun des deux soirs où nous avons dormi dans l’hôtel, le menu était à 10000 couronnes, soit 70 euros, ce qui correspond aux prix habituels en Islande, délicieux potage, plat typique de poisson & patates tout à fait bon, idem morue ou char avec petits légumes, tarte à la rhubarbe un soir. Quant aux personnes, ce fut surtout une jeune femme issue de Barcelone souriante et attentionnée, avec qui nous avons eu plaisir à bavarder un peu, et un homme d’ici tout aussi amical qui fait entendre des musiques des sixties dont il a la nostalgie, ce qui correspondait à nos propres souhaits. Ces raisons font que ce fut le meilleur moment de notre voyage de trois semaines, un véritable enchantement. Cet hôtel est bien sûr l’endroit parfait pour se rendre aux falaises aux milliers d’oiseaux, dont les puffins et les pingouins Torda.

Fantastic hotel. Cozy, great rooms (better than most of higher class hotels/Guesthouse), amazing service and staff. Also great location to explore the Red Beach and the bird cliff. Absolutly recommended, if you booked here - you will enjoy!

A quant and comfortable hotel in the West Fjords. The owner is a local and has some amazing stories. Meals were perfect.
Drive out the road to the lighthouse to get to the "Self Service" fridge of local handmade wool products. A lot of small children's hats gloves, mittens. And home made jams!!!

This is a nice place out of the way. The room was nice. The bonus was the food. They offer a 3 course meal with two choices. (my partner does not eat fish and they made her a nice chicken dish. Tell them you are staying for dinner when you make your reservation. They are 40 minutes to the cliffs.

Hôtel isolé mais bien placé si vous voulez voir les falaises de Latrabjarg; vu que la route est difficile pour les falaises, c’est appréciable de se reposer au milieu.
la chambre est confortable, petit déjeuner complet. On n’a pas testé le souper. Malheureusement mauvais temps donc on a pas pu apprécier la vue sur la plage.

Ein kleines Hotel, das etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. Die Zimmer sind zwar alt eingerichtet, doch alles ist sauber und funktioniert. Die Besitzer sind nett und höflich. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist einfach jedoch nicht sehr vielfältig. Leider gibt es abends nur ein Menü, dass für uns vier Personen fast 300 € gekostet hätte. Wir haben abgelehnt. Es war sehr speziell und somit nichts für unsere Kinder. Menschen mit Allergien, Unverträglichkeiten oder Veganer haben ein Problem. Zudem liegt das Hotel tatsächlich im Nichts. Die nächste "Stadt" ist 45 Minuten entfernt.
