We’ve been exploring Iceland for two weeks, and our one-night stay at this beautiful cottage in Borgarnes was one of the highlights of the trip!

The cottage is warm, cozy, and beautifully designed with wooden interiors that create a truly romantic and relaxing atmosphere. It has everything you need – a fully equipped kitchen, two comfortable bedrooms, and all the thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home.

The lady who checked us in was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made our short stay even more enjoyable. Everything was clean, peaceful, and well-maintained.

We wish we could’ve stayed longer! Highly recommend this lovely spot to anyone visiting Iceland.

Guest house proposée par notre circuit Nouvelles Frontières. C'est un lieu magnifique au bord du Fjord. La déco est cosy, la propriétaire est très sympathique et souriante. Les chambres sont propres et confortables. La cuisine est très appréciable (possibilité d'utiliser le réfrigérateur, de faire cuire sur des plaques électriques, bouilloire, cafetière). Le petit déjeuner est copieux, bien présenté et délicieux. Un excellent souvenir!

Nice guesthouse and friendly staff. I think the prices were reasonable after reviewing other options. We were van camping and couldn’t find a nice campsite so drive up here and they had a room for us. Easy access to the peninsula with great views.

The room was clean, comfortable, and had what it needed to. The host was really friendly and helpful, and gave me great recommendations for things to do in town. Breakfast was nice too, I enjoyed that a lot. And the view from the hotel is stunning! The only downside is that it's a bit of a walk from the bus station if you come by bus, but that's about the only negative thing I can say. Well worth the price, and I will certainly book here again if I come back to the area.

J’y ai séjourné une nuit, lors du 4e arrêt de mon road trip en Islande organisé par Tourlane. Et honnêtement… meilleure surprise du séjour ! Mon logement préféré du voyage.

J’ai été très bien accueilli, même avec mon anglais un peu approximatif. Il y avait visiblement un des trois logements en rénovation, et j’ai eu la chance d’avoir la maisonnette du milieu, toute équipée : petite cuisine, frigo, un espace très grand et très propre.

L’eau chaude, chauffée naturellement par une station géothermique, avait cette petite odeur de soufre typique… ça rajoute au charme islandais 😄

Et que dire de la vue magnifique… Une petite plage en contrebas, parfaite pour quelques clichés et même des appels visio histoire de rendre jaloux mes proches ! Malgré le froid, j’ai adoré passer du temps dehors à simplement profiter du paysage.

À quelques kilomètres, un supermarché Bónus permet de faire quelques courses facilement, et la petite ville de Borgarnes a beaucoup de charme.

Petit bonus très appréciable : une smart TV dans la maisonnette, parfaite pour caster mes contenus depuis le téléphone (même si la vue a clairement volé la vedette à la télé !).

Le petit déjeuner était également super : une panière individuelle par personne avec des tranches de pain, une part de gâteau (à base de granola ?), du sucré comme du salé… Simple mais efficace.

Un endroit que je recommande les yeux fermés. Vraiment un superbe moment de calme, de confort et de nature.

We stayed in the cottage with views over the fjord and hills beyond. |The cottage was warm, comfortable, peaceful, spacious and very clean with all amenities. We loved the hob and coffee maker. |However, the BEST moment came when we saw the Northern Lights! We walked 150 yards to the beach and saw the sky light up! Fantastic!

Bjarg Borgarnes was one of the last places we stayed on our 9 day Ring Road Trip and it was one of our favorites. The place has been in the family for multiple generations, and you definitely feel at home. I am blanking on the name of the owner, but she is incredibly nice, sweet and welcoming. The volcano went off the night we were there and she was helpful in letting us know that the ski resort would be closed (she also helped us plan to go there the night before!). All of the jams are made on sight from what she grows. You have to try the Crowberry. It is easily the best jam / jelly I have had in my life!!
