Kom okkur skemmtilega á óvart að gista á Hafdals Hotelinu. Snyrtileg og rúmgóð herbergi með frábæru útsýni og ekki má gleyma að nefna kyrrðina sem umlykur mann. Staðgoður morgunmatur í boði. Gestgjafinn lipur og þægilegur.

Rúmgóð og snyrtileg herbergi með glæsilegu útsýni. Morgunmaturinn fjölbreyttur og góður. Liðlegt og gott starfsfólk. Mæli svo sannarlega með þessu hóteli🙂

This hotel looks better in person than in the pictures. The rooms are modern and spotlessly clean. Hardwood floors and a balcony access.

Breakfast is modest but had hardboiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, deli meats and cheese, and croissants.

The hotel owner is a kind gentleman and very attentive.

This is a good hotel option slightly outside of Akureyri which affords more nature and incredible views. I attempted to capture the northern lights but a large cloud blocked the view, however the northern lights were indeed visible over the water and with the city backdrop.

Highly recommend this as an alternative to the main town and if you need a good parking facility.

We stayed her one night. The rooms are great with amazing views of the town. The owner is also very nice. It doesn’t have an in house restaurant and we did not have car with us. While we were about to call taxi for dinner the owner suggested he could take us to town and wait for us while we order food at a very nominal charge (much less than taxi). It’s 10 minutes driving distance from all the restaurants.

El recepcionista fue muy amable y considerado con nosotros. La habitación estaba muy bien, la cama muy cómoda y el baño aceptable. Las vistas a Akureyri eran impresionantes, en la habitación teníamos un ventanal hacia el pueblo, con una puerta si queríamos salir. El desayuno estaba muy bien, aunque tenía poca variedad. Hay suficiente aparcamiento. En general, un lugar recomendable por su tranquilidad y sus buenas vistas.

We booked this hotel for three nights the last weekend of August . We had read all the marvellous reviews and of how nice the owner was, but the hotel and owner far exceeded our expectations. The hotel website does not do justice to how spectacular and lovely the hotel is , it’s actually also very contemporary and the finishing’s are of very high quality . The owners have put a lot of thought and love into designing this hotel for the comfort of their guests. The walls are all soundproofed so u don’t hear a thing, the rooms are of a really good size which is very rare in Iceland . The rooms are immaculately clean and very comfortable with a quality mattress for a good nights sleep . We never stayed up to see the Northern lights but the other guests did , just sat on their balconies about midnight and said it was amazing. Buffet breakfast was excellent and what a view . The area of the hotel is beautiful worth the short drive over it’s like the Beverly Hills of Akureyri . We will definitely be returning especially now that a winter direct flight path has opened up from Manchester to Akureyri.

We stated here one night during our travels around the ring tiad. This is a delightful unassuming little hotel built on the hillside with beautiful views of Akureyri. It is perfect and the owner is a sweet gentleman who will make sure you are well taken care of. Don't hesitate. Book it!

A small hotel nestled on the hillside outside Akureyri affording good views of the Eyjafjorder, town, valley and hills opposite. The Airport is also on full display, but it is quiet and small and is a positive point of interest rather than a nuisance. Rooms are well appointed, very clean and comfortable. The host is quiet and efficient and serves that standard breakfast one encounters across the country. All in all a good option if you have a car.
