We hiked up the mountain. its a challenging uphill hike, but opens up great views of the city and golf course and an ocean. we also got to see some puffins and sheep. parking is free, and there are restrooms.

Located right next to a awesome golf course be careful if you’re walking in the area for golf balls and people swinging but overall a cool experience and nice spot

An island off an island, elephant rock is located in Westman island , 30 mins off southern cost of island. Incredible rock formations, including a very visible, massive elephant carved in the rock. Natures art!

Elephant Rock Viewpoint — Or Is It?

You really need some imagination here! From one angle, I definitely saw an elephant. But then, walking around the rock, I swear I spotted a rhino… maybe even a crocodile dinosaur? Haha! Nature’s little optical illusion playground for sure.

The walk from the ferry to the viewpoint is just as impressive as the “rock art” itself — stunning views all along the way that make you forget you’re just trying to find a giant stone animal.

If you’re up for a fun adventure with some good laughs and beautiful scenery, this spot is a must-see!

There was a golf tournament going on so I didn’t get closer. Such a neat formation of rock by the ocean. A local said when the sun hits just right the bird poo makes the eye really pop! 😉

the rock could be seen from the puffin area, the closest area is a golf field, you can go there

We move this small island off the Iceland! I recommend minimum two nights. If you plan to golf three nights. There are three amazing must do hikes, eat at Gott and Slippurin. Take a RIB boat tour, goto Sea Life.

Beautiful view of the ocean and rugged coast. It’s our last the course which made the trek out there a bit cumbersome but worth it! Watch out for golf balls. Haha!
